Alignea has worked across both the private and public sectors, including Government Departments, NDPBs, agencies, health authorities, regulators, charities and local authorities. Here are some examples of our recent projects:
| Merger (NDPB) | Alignea helped a newly established non-departmental public body (NDPB) to merge together three legacy organisations with additional new legislative remit brought about through the Equality Act. Alignea was engaged to support the capture of existing working methods and knowledge, and the development of the future state service delivery model, in support of the transformation programme. | |
| Market review (Government Department) | Alignea was engaged by a Special Health Authority, on behalf of their parent Government Department, to carry out a commercial market review of supplier capabilities and access to commissioning and performance management opportunities across the NHS. A number of key findings on both the supply and demand side were reported, which were encompassed within the overall Informatics Review report, now influencing changing behaviours, market access mechanisms and activities within the sector. | |
| Operating model (Government Department) | This central Government Department, like many organisations within the public sector, was facing up to the challenges of driving additional efficiencies. Alignea’s experience in the field of operating model development was used to guide a revised business unit strategy and to realise savings. | |
| Strategic plan (Charity) | Alignea provided support and advice for the development of the future strategy for a long established children’s charity whose services focus predominately on building self-esteem and emotional well being, preparing children for a fulfilling adult life. | |
| Commercial strategy (Private sector) | Alignea was engaged by a publishing subsidiary of a leading private sector health organisation to support the new Commercial Director in the review and development of the Groups commercial strategy, researching and reporting on the future landscape of the health market, and supporting staff in acquisition analysis. | |
| Transformation (Private sector) | Alignea was engaged by the largest sector trade organisation to support its board and transition team to deliver a complex merger and transformation programme. Alignea has contributed to this success by providing specialist advice across a broad range of themes including business planning, change management, benefits realisation, programme design, product pricing strategy, and director and staff training, coaching and mentoring. | |
| Grants strategy (NDPB) | Alignea was selected to work with a relatively new NDPB to review and develop a grants funding best practice model concerned with promoting equality and diversity, good relations and human rights. We worked in an advisory capacity with the Senior Management Team and Grants Committee to help them determine their long term grant’s strategy in alignment with their corporate goals. | |
| Shared services (Regulator) | Alignea worked with a Regulator to review their support services operational capabilities, contribution and organisation structure. The team advised on how to strategically align and strengthen support services to underpin delivery of the new strategy. We identified issues with key cross-functional processes and defined new competencies and organisational capabilities to enable the required improvements. A series of recommendations were proposed encompassing process improvement, organisation structure, knowledge and information management, IT strategy and cultural development. | |
| Commercial strategy (Health) | Alignea supported a Special Health Authority in a review of commercial relationships, plans and capabilities, taking market soundings, highlighting portfolio challenges and outlining a strategic approach to take with regards to their role with data, information and tools within the supply chain across both the public and private sectors, together with drafting an organisational protocol. |
